Senior School News
Senior School Awards
On Thursday 2nd December, College pride was on full display as we reflected on and celebrated the incredible achievements of our senior students at the 2021 Senior School Awards ceremony. Livestreamed to all families, the audience enjoyed speeches from our Leadership team, instrumental performances by our Music department, and of course, the student awards presented by our senior school teachers.
An incredibly proud Principal, Mr. Glenn Morris, reflected on the social, emotional and academic growth of our senior students. His rousing address centered around the internal strengths our senior students have applied in order to achieve their best in the face of uncertainty and challenges. Strengths such as the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with their learning partners; an inquisitive nature; and work habits of hard work, perseverance and outstanding organization.
To be a recipient of a senior school award at Doncaster Secondary College it takes the initiative, and sometimes courage, to reach out and utilize your support networks. How have our students used these supports? Mr. Morris posed this question to our senior students prior to the ceremony and noted their responses.
The encouragement I received from those close to me was invaluable during difficult times.
I recognise the incredible commitment and dedication of my teachers to check in on me, not just as a student, but as a young person.
My family and friends have been the biggest support network over the years. They gave me the strength to be the person that I am.
I care for myself and balance my life, and I care for others.
Congratulations to our senior student award recipients. You are our College role models and inspire other students to achieve their personal best.

Net Packaging Design
Students were tasked to create 3 packaging nets in response to the Design Brief. The theme was Halloween and students were in control of the local “Fundraising Drive” which resulted in developing 2D skills and converting them into 3D forms. Constraints and specific requirements were set.
As evident, many amazing illustrations and constructions of various nets and packaging designs. I am very proud of the results and students must be commended for their efforts and attitudes throughout the term.
