Wellbeing over the School Holidays

It has been a big year for our students.  Whilst the end of the year is most likely a welcome reprieve, the holidays can take students away from their friends and usual school supports. Changes to routine can cause some young people to feel stressed, isolated and alone.  We encourage our students to stay connected with friends, keep up physical activity, enjoy some healthy eating and simply devote time to having fun.

Doncaster Secondary College have compiled a list of resources for student and families looking after their mental health and wellbeing over the school holidays.

Tis the Season to be Cranky

Christmas holidays are supposed to be a time of celebration, delight, and time with family. This is a good thing! But no matter how much we love our family, interfering in-laws, relatives that rub the wrong way, and visitors who violate our version of good manners can make our silly season sad.

Relationships are often challenging, but they don’t have to be. Happy Families recently hosted a webinar designed to smooth out the bumps in our relationships this silly season by providing a handful of simple relationship rules to help us avoid conflict and find fun and joy in our everyday interactions at home.  As a Premium School Member, you can watch the recorded webinar below.
