We make meaningful connections between learning and our world

Students often ponder and question the meaningfulness and usefulness of the subject content they learn. Year 11 students, Joel and Luke have been inspired to create an educational experience for Year 10 students that will help them connect with and understand how their learning directly relates to future career options. Joel attended a University of South Australia Mathematics Experience Day in 2017 which exposed him to a vast array of careers with Mathematics as a focus. This experience sparked the initiative which would be expanded to cater for all subject areas with a wide range of presenters. Joel and Luke have been considered and thoughtful with their planning and persistent with their efforts to make the experience a reality. We are confident that the Year 10 cohort will benefit greatly from this initiative.

At Endeavour College we are student focussed, passionate about student agency and are always considering processes and opportunities that will enhance the involvement of students in decision-making. We believe that students feel connected, confident and valued when they are included in decision-making. Many students are embracing opportunities to influence College based decisions. They challenge our ideas, inspire and motivate us. Their unique and relevant experiences and suggestions only enhance any initiative. They take great pride in their influence and reflect thoughtfully on their legacy to the College.
