From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers, Konnichiwa!

Moving from a great school to one that is consistently outstanding

As I shared with you in the last newsletter all Department for Education school improvement plans in 2019 are focused on literacy and numeracy. This means, for us at Grange that we will focus and strengthen our current improvement work in literacy and mathematics. The work of our Senior Leaders has been critical in supporting and enabling all teachers to continuously improve their practice.

In 2019 this will be even further strengthened by employing three new Coordinators. These positions have now been finalised and personnel selected to work in the role of Coach.

The successful applicants are:

* Literacy- Rebecca Lokan

* Mathematics- Maureen Hegarty

* Technology- Chris Philbrook

Each coach brings great skill and expertise in leading other teachers and most importantly having best teaching and learning practice. Every classroom and specialist teacher will have intensive support from the coaches to extend their current good practice even further.

The investment in a coaching model and intensive support for every teacher in developing the quality and consistency of teaching in literacy, mathematics and technology  will help to develop even more students that are highly confident, capable and high achieving students to be the very best they can be.

There are very exciting times ahead at Grange Primary School which will enable our school to move from a good and great school to one that is consistently outstanding and recognised as one of the best in Australia.

Regards, Grant
