Primary Speech Finals

The Primary Speech Finals will be held on Monday 28 October, in the School Hall. Mr Paul Alliston will be the judge this year. The speeches will commence at 10:30am with the Year 3 students followed by Year 4. There will then be a lunch break and afterwards the Year 5 students will commence at 12:00pm followed by Year 6. All parents are welcome to attend and watch. Class teachers will send home more information over the comings weeks so that the students can start preparing for class presentations.

Importance of Sleep

As the term is drawing to a close the children are becoming more and more tired. Please encourage your child to get a good nights sleep as this helps improve concentration levels, boosts learning, reduces irritability and helps beat germs. Children aged 5-12 years need to get a minimum of 10 hours of sleep each night and following a routine at night time helps your child learn to be sleepy. Shut off screens too, as research is mounting about the light generated by computers and tablets and how it prevents children from getting a good night’s sleep.

School Uniform

As of the 1 September students may choose to wear either Summer or Winter uniform. They must however, be in full uniform for the respective season ie. Ties and long sleeves if wearing winter uniform; no long sleeves or stockings if wearing the summer uniform.
