Senior Girls Badminton

The senior girls team for badminton winter sports consisted of Tilissa Nixon, Shekinah Asade, Jordan Blackley and Hannah Lepp. They completed in Interschool here in Shepparton on the 24th of May and won all sets, going on to the next level - Regionals.

The girls did very well at the regionals in Wangaratta on the 26th of July, with the team only dropping 3 sets. They returned to school with a pennant and attended more practice sessions before heading off to State level competition.

State competition was played at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, Albert Park, on the 16th of August. The girls started the day really strong by winning their first set against Bendigo Senior Secondary College. They then played Viewbank College. Even though the girls lost the majority of their games by 5 or 6 points, they made the other team work hard for the points. The last team in the round was Belmont High School, a strong team. The girls again made them work hard for the points and did their best.

Throughout the journey, it was evident how much fun all the girls were having and how much their skills had improved during each stage. Thank you for all your efforts and well done!
