School Wide Positive Behaviour

We have been having a lot of conversations recently about what our school values look like around our school. As part of School Wide Positive Behaviour we talk about the expected behaviours in a positive way. These relate to our school values. Next term you will start to hear and see displays around the school for the behaviours that are expected. We have talked to students about 3 strategies to use when others are physical and using the same language across the school.

  • SAFE HANDS
  • STOP I DON'T LIKE IT
  • TELL THE TEACHER IF WE CAN'T RESOLVE IT

This language is being used from Prep to grade 6.

As with any change that is implemented anywhere, you would know yourself if a new rule gets put in place at home, things can be disrupted and awkward for a while. We know that everyone has emotional reactions to change and students, children, who already find it difficult to manage their emotions can find this even more challenging. We continue to have the same expectations at school and given time students will start to realise and understand that we provide consistency and clear expectations. Schools are places of learning and we want to be able to work together to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all of our students no matter what their needs.

Holidays

We hope that you all have a safe and happy holiday break. Looking forward to returning for another great term of learning.

Happy holidays.
