International Poster Competition

Lions International Poster Competition for Peace

This year Year 7 Lowan had the opportunity to participate in the International Lions Club Peace Poster. Students had been given the theme ‘Kindness Matters’. After several weeks of researching, drafting and finally completing their posters they were collected by Mr Colin Stevens and judged last weekend. It is with great pleasure that Dromana College announces that the winning overall poster design was won by Hailey Martell-Steynen. Her poster now goes onto the next stage which is the state selection. Hailey could then be looking at a prize of $5000 US or a trip to the world  presentation with her family and a member of the Lions Club. We wish her all the best. All the students in 7 Lowan did a tremendous job.

Semester 2, Year 7 Art

Early in the semester the Year 7 art class worked on producing animal drawings that contained the name of the animal in its body. The task required students to draw a number of animals first and then select the one that they felt confident in enlarging. The students were then taught how to blend a range of colours together to create tonal change using coloured pencils. Here are just some of those drawings.
