Grade 1 News

‘We are bursting with pride Grade 1!’

During term 3, Grade 1 and their parents/carers have done an absolutely phenomenal job with home learning. We’ve been really impressed with how their digital technology skills have continued to improve and how resilient everyone has been during this difficult time! We’d like to share just a snippet of all the great work they have completed this term.

We have been learning how to infer and make connections to texts. We have been learning about the features of fiction and non-fiction texts.

We have been learning about skip counting, groups of, sharing and extending our addition and subtraction skills!

We also found the time to investigate fractions and mass!

We’ve been working hard in writing as well! We have been researching and taking notes and learning how to use this information to write an information report that includes a title, classification, subheadings and a conclusion.

For our unit of inquiry we explored the design process. Students were asked to show their understanding of the design process by designing a variety of things.

Reflecting was an important part of every day.  We always shared a speck of gold to show gratitude and remind ourselves that even on bad days there is always something good to be found.

Being in lock-down and home learning all term hasn’t been easy, but we were resilient and we managed to stay positive! Grade 1 would like to share some our ‘Happy news’ with you, please take a few minutes to look through our padlet!
