Sedgwick Centre

A tribute to Laurie Sedgwick ~ BHS Principal from 1977 to 1986.

On Monday 31st August 2020, Ballarat High School officially took possession of the $4 Million refurbishment of our Visual Art & Technology Building - to be known as the Sedgwick Centre.

Thank you to Ballarat based firms Morton Dunn Architecture and SJ Weir for their tireless work to deliver this project within budget and on schedule.

Mr Laurie Sedgwick was a student at Ballarat High School from 1941-45 and to date the only ex-student to become Principal. He trained as an Art and Craft teacher, sharing his talents over a long career dedicated to Education and the Arts. Mr Sedgwick was Principal of BHS from 1977 to 1986.

Over the next 2 weeks we will move a very large quantity of furniture, equipment and class materials into the fresh, bright and contemporary learning spaces.

We have also been fortunate to purchase some exciting new equipment, which we will feature in future newsletters, along with some building photos for you to enjoy, until we are able to welcome you back on-site.
