Message from the Principal

'At our very heart is the desire for each individual student to flourish across academic, physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual domains. We support students to grow in virtue and to embrace a view of themselves and the world that leads to peace, justice, and the prosperity of society as a whole. Ours is a journey towards hope and optimism that is enlightened by faith and animated by love.'

From COVID to Christmas through the calm waters of Term 4
From COVID to Christmas through the calm waters of Term 4

Dear Families,

Welcome back and welcome into a wonderful new term of learning and connection. We have weathered the storms and torrential rain, winds and winter and we leave behind the past months of anxious waiting and head into the calmer waters of a more predictable and known Term 4.

With Spring at our feet and the longer days and brighter mornings, we approach our journey from COVID to Christmas with the same hope that Advent and Christmas brings. The joyful expectation. The hope of new beginnings and hope of a time when family celebrations can enable us to feel connected once again.

It was a joyful week of chatting, laughing, conversations, sharing, playing, outside activity, art, free expression and face to face learning. We saw balloons, bubble machines, glittery entrances, banners of welcome, gifts to treasure and just smiles for miles with the odd yawn here and there!!!!!

You have previously seen the road map I shared with you as the term began and I want to remind you all of its purpose. It contains a known map with positive detours. This means that we keep the term heading in the direction of growth and celebration without looking back. We have a plan. We will celebrate our Year 6's but differently. We will transition our new Preps but in a new way and we will celebrate our end of year and Christmas as a community but with creative and careful differences. We will be COVID safe but we will adapt the occasions that we cherish and look forward to each year.

Remember that all around us the world is presenting well-being as the priority for everyone. It must be our priority also. So we do need to be positive and reaffirming at all times when it comes to learning and school life, worries and doubts.  Our well-being team are here for your family if you are experiencing any difficulties with the transition back to school and many different options for support are available.  Please reach out to us. We are here and we will listen.

We are speaking the language of positive loops on the road-map. Keep the conversations positive, try not to cause any unnecessary worry and anxiety about staying safe at school or catching up at school.  It is faster and easier to make up for loss of learning than loss of well-being. We must remember this at all times while on the journey to Christmas.

Remember that the journey may still take some planning as we know guidelines change on us and there are often detours so please, stay informed and read all correspondence through School Story on Dojo and through the newsletter.

Please go gently into what is like the beginning of a new school year and as always, if you need any support with anything at all you know that all you need to do is contact me via email to discuss any of your needs at this challenging time.

God Bless,
