Grade 1/2

This week the grade 1/2 students participated in a volcano eruption science experiment via Google Meet. We had so much fun participating in the experiment and learning about what happens when we mixed bicarb soda with white vinegar. We learnt that a chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda creates a gas called carbon dioxide! The gas gets very excited and tries to spread out. There is not enough room in the bottle for the gas to spread out so it leaves through the opening very quickly, causing an eruption! It was awesome!

Time to Celebrate!

To celebrate the fantastic learning and amazing efforts of the Prep students, this week the Preps have participated in many different hands on activities via Google Meet. So far, they have participated in a guided drawing session (check out Katalina's 'Pizza Steve' below) and a sing-a-long with Kate, where P-2 got to share their knowledge of 'Music from the Movies'.  Then it was time for a ‘Water Fireworks’ experiment where we watched food colouring sink through oil and shoot like mini colourful fireworks into a glass. Next, the students learnt how to make play dough with our wonderful LSO Rose-Lee and two special guests, her children, Marcus and Sienna. We still have chocolate coconut balls, a disco with Stuart, a fancy dress session and Show and Tell to come!!

Goodbye Frankie!

The time has come to say 'Goodbye' to fantastic Frankie and the wonderful Delahunty family. We will definitely miss your clever, creative and lively personality, Frankie. Your Prep friends, Ann and Bethany wish you all the very best for your future!

Frankie also shared a special 'Goodbye' message with her classmates via a video.

"Goodbye Sacred Heart.
I will miss you very much.
I will come back to Preston to visit you to say Goodbye.
Love Frankie.
Goodbye!"

Year 3/4 Photo a Day

Today I played basketball because it’s my favourite sport, it keeps me active and because the Celtics are winning in the NBA playoff eastern semifinals against the Raptors.  By Ethan

This photo is from my backyard. My brother found the ladybug in my mum's bedroom and we all made a wish for something. I let it outside, in one of the plants in my backyard and it is still there. The plant is in the shade not in the sun, so the ladybug can be cool. The ladybug is red and black, it is also shiny. By Liam

This is a photo of me kicking the football. I love playing football very much because it’s my favourite sport. By Michael

I love my boxing bag because it is fun to cuddle it. I also like to hit it with my hands as it helps to make my punches stronger. I use my boxing bag for 23 minutes everyday. By Sam

Today we made fruit kebabs bat school. We cut up fruit including bananas, pineapple and strawberries, then we put them on skewers. We made sure we were wearing gloves so everything was clean. Then we made some topping. We put them in the fridge for a little while. They tasted awesome and they looked so cool and colorful. It was great fun.
