Year 5/6 Update

The Year 5 & 6 students completed their group presentations about Catholicism and Religions of the World.  The students collaborated and researched the Catholic faith and presented slides relating to: Our God; The Bible; Catholic Teachings; Our leaders such as the Pope, Bishops and Priests; The 7 Sacraments; Symbols and Images; and Celebrations of our faith.  Each group of students were then given the task of researching and reporting another faith such as Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Eastern Orthodox Faiths.

Year 3/4  update

The Year 3 & 4 students have been learning about the Catholic faith and how Catholics worship.  They have also been studying the 7 Sacraments of the Catholic faith.  Each week they have been learning about a different sacrament.  For the last few weeks they have been researching and reporting on Baptism and Sacrament of First Reconciliation.  Next week they will launch into researching the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, followed by Confirmation.

Year 1/2 update

The Year 1/2 students have been gathering information about being a Catholic and how they celebrate Catholic festivals such as Christmas and Easter.  The students also researched how other faiths celebrate their religious festivals such as Diwali, Hanukkah, Passover, Ramadan and St Lucia Day.

Prep update

The Prep students have been working on images of God and how we are made in God's image.

This was followed by looking at people in our community that resemble God in what they do. The Preps have been writing prayers to all health care workers in our community giving thanks to God's help in their daily work.  They care for those who are sick or the young in hospitals,  or elderly in nursing homes and those who just need tender loving care.  Thank you from all the Preps.

Light in the Darkness

On Monday 31st August 2020 some of our staff members went out into their front yards, lit a candle and prayed for the victims of COVID-19, violence and injustice.  These and many more Catholics in the Archdiocese of Melbourne held a prayer vigil "Light in the Darkness". Please keep all those who have suffered through this pandemic in your prayers.
