PFA Report

PFA NEWS
Thank you to all of the families who participated in our Family Portraits fundraiser on the 18th and 19th April. Due to the fantastic response, we have one more day of Portraits planned for the 17th May.
Our second fundraiser for Term 2 is a School Disco on Friday 29th May. The Prep-Grade 2 disco will be held from 5.00-6.00pm, and the Grade 3-6 disco will be 6.30-7.30pm in the school gym. This is a great night for all children, and one they have enjoyed in previous years. Notices will be sent home regarding this event.
The PFA are working hard on planning for our major fundraiser, the Annual School Walkathon which is to be held on Friday 23rd October this year.
We are also planning the first Lyndhurst Primary School Trivia Night, which will be on Friday 28th August. Keep the night free, as we would love to see as many parents & friends as possible for this event.
We are seeking donations for both of these fundraisers; if anyone in the school community can donate a prize or offer a service for auction please see the front office, or email the PFA at neilson.enza.e@edumail.vic.gov.au.
Save The Date:
The PFA have booked a Shopping Tour for Saturday 17th October. This was a fantastic day last year, with a bus trip to many shopping outlets around Melbourne. Keep the day free, and deposits for the tour will be required in mid-June.
The Good Guys Cranbourne Cash Program:
Lyndhurst Primary School is now a part of The Good Guys Cranbourne Cash Program. If you purchase an item at The Good Guys Cranbourne store, advise the salesperson that you would like ‘Cranbourne Cash’ to be allocated to Lyndhurst Primary School.
$1 from every $25 spent goes back to the school. Mention this to friends and family, as the more people who allocate the ‘cash’ to the school when they make a purchase, the more funds we raise.
Coffee Barn Bistro & Bar Rewards Card:
Students will soon be sent home a Coffee Barn Rewards Card. Keep this card with you and present it whenever you purchase food/drinks at the local Coffee Barn at Marriott Waters. 5% of total purchases will be given back to the school.
Quickbeds Accommodation & Booking Website:
The PFA have signed up for a Fundraising Program known as Quickbeds. Quickbeds is an accommodation and booking website owned by the Flight Centre. If you, or any friends and family are looking for Australian and New Zealand accommodation, head to www.quickbeds.com. They have a price beat guarantee.
If you decide to book through Quickbeds, use the Lyndhurst ID of 1346. Every booking made with this ID raises funds for the school.
Fresh Fruit Fridays
Fresh Fruit Fridays will continue this term, with the proud support of Woolworths Marriott Waters. Each class receives a container of freshly cut fruit to share. We are seeking parent helpers to cut up fruit.
If you can help out every now and then, feel free to drop in to the staff room at 9.00 on a Friday morning. We would appreciate your assistance.
Second Hand Uniform Stall
The Second Hand Uniform Stall will be running regularly, on the 1st Tuesday of every month. The next stall will be held on Tuesday 5th May from 8.30-9.00am and in the afternoon from 3.00-3.30 in the school gym.
If anyone has any uniforms they would like to donate to the school, please hand them to the office. All clothes must be clean, without holes and able to be worn.
School Banking with Bendigo Bank every Friday.
Bendigo Bank will collect bank books from the school every Friday. Students can bring in their banking each week, and books will be returned by the end of the day.
For further details, or to open an account with Bendigo Bank please contact 03 9799 0344, email marriottwatersmailbox@bendigoadelaide.com.au or visit the branch at Marriott Waters Shopping Centre to speak to any of the friendly staff.
Future Events
The PFA has many fundraising activities planned for the year. We have already raised $25,000 for a new playground, and our goal of $10,000 this year will raise the remaining funds needed for this important equipment. All children will benefit from our fundraising. We will be showing our progress towards our goal in each fortnightly newsletter, and would greatly appreciate your support in all of our fundraising efforts throughout the year.
The next PFA meeting will be held on Thursday 14th May 2015, and we would love to see new parents join us then.
All parents, guardians, grandparents and friends are welcome to attend our meetings and join the PFA. If you cannot attend meetings, yet would like to participate in our fundraising activities, we would love to hear from you. Our new email address is neilson.enza.e@edumail.vic.gov.au. Send us an emailor speak to the office staff who will put you in contact with a member of the committee.
We look forward to your support in 2015,
PFA (Parents and Friends Association)
