Mother's Day Stall

On Thursday 7th May, the Parents and Friends Association will be hosting a Mother’s Day Stall.

 

Children are invited to purchase a gift for mum, or for the important lady in their life.

 

Gifts will range from in price from $2 to $5. Children may purchase only 1 gift each. Special family circumstances will be taken into consideration.

 

Money is to be brought to school on Thursday 7th May only, in an envelope marked as follows:

Envelopes are handed to their classroom teacher at the beginning of the day. Please send a plastic bag to school with your child to take their gift home in.

 

Children will attend the stall in class groups throughout the day. Each child will be given the opportunity to purchase one initial gift. 

 

 

Once every child has had this opportunity, children may return to purchase further gifts during lunchtime on Friday.

 

For children who are not in attendance on Thursday 7th May, gifts will be available at the office on Friday 8th May for students to purchase at recess and lunch.

Prep Myuna Farm Excursion

On Tuesday 12th May the Prep students will be going on an excursion to Myuna Farm. We will be participating in a range of farm activities including animal feeding, a pony ride, a train ride and a farm show.

 

We will be leaving school at 9am and returning at approximately 3pm. We will be travelling by hired coach.

 

The students will need to be in full school uniform on the day, with their school hat, and a jumper if the weather is colder. Students should also bring a water bottle, a healthy snack, and some lunch in separate disposable bags, with the students’ full name and class on the front. 

Students will also need to wear appropriate footwear for a farm, and bring a raincoat if the weather looks like rain.

 

The cost of this excursion will be $23*.All forms and money need to be returned in an envelope with the child’s full name and class on the front. Payments need to be exact, as the Office cannot give change.

 

*Bus portion of the cost is non-refundable

Grade 2 Drama Toolbox Incursion

On Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th May all the Grade 2 students will be involved in a drama incursion presented by The Drama Toolbox Company, who will come to the school and present ‘Fairy-Tale Fiasco!’

 

The students will take part in a one hour workshop with their grades, dressing up in costumes and playing different characters. The workshop is linked to narrative writing, the Grade 2 writing genre for this term, and the students will be doing a writing piece after their incursion.

 

Students will be required to wear full school uniform on the day.

 

The cost of this incursion will be a $12 and is due by Tuesday 19th May – No money can be accepted after this date. All forms and money need to be returned in an envelope with the child’s full name and class on the front. Payments need to be exact as the Office cannot give change. Payments are non-refundable.

Term 2 Swimming Lessons

All students in Grades 1 & 2 will have the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons, to be conducted through Casey ARC Swimming Pool in Narre Warren. This will be an intensive program, with 7 x 45 minute pool sessions running once per day from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th June, then Monday 22nd to Thursday 25th June during Term 2. Students will be transported to and from the pool by bus.

 

The YMCA AquaSafe Program at Casey ARC has a strong emphasis on personal water safety and survival skills, simulated open water activities and stroke development. The learning environment offers opportunities to further develop physical skills, personal water safety knowledge and skills, and an understanding and appreciation of aquatic safety rules. Students will be grouped according to like needs, with a maximum of seven students per instructor.

 

We strongly recommend the program, not only to ensure our children become competent swimmers but to also develop their understanding of water environments and any dangers associated.

 

The overall cost for your child to participate will be approximately $100 - $120 (dependent on numbers).

 

To book your child’s place, please pay a non-refundable deposit of $50 by Friday 8th of May.

 

Please seal money in an envelope labeled – Term 02 Swimming Lessons, with the name and grade of your child. 

 

The final balance will be due on Friday 5th of June.

Term 3 Swimming Lessons

All students in Grades Prep, 3 and 4 will have the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons, to be conducted through Casey ARC Swimming Pool in Narre Warren. Students will be transported to and from the pool by bus.
