Principal's Report

The Big Announcement

There was a great deal of excitement at our assembly last week when the total amount raised at our  Kilsyth Community Fair was announced.  As well as being a major fundraiser for the school, the fair was a massive day of fun and community spirit .  We were absolutely thrilled with the day, the energy of the crowds and the enjoyment had by all.  And we raised....

...drum roll, please ...

$4459.60

... which is a fabulous result, and means that in total we have raised this year...

$25,439.60

On behalf of school council I would like to thank every single member of our wonderful school community for this fantastic outcome.  We are so appreciative of the time, energy and commitment willingly given by so many members of our school community this year.

Thank you

New Playground, here we come...

The wonderful fundraising result this year means that we are now able to fully commit to our plans for a new playground.  Combined with the careful budgeting and saving by school council this year, we are delighted to announce that we have now paid the deposit on our new playground and have had a commitment from the manufacturer that it will be FULLY INSTALLED IN READINESS FOR THE START OF THE 2020 SCHOOL YEAR!!

Miss Johnstone has been working with our students to work out just what it is that makes a playground great.  Our students have some fantastic ideas!!  After giving every class an opportunity to share what it was they loved about playgrounds and the types of equipment they enjoyed, Miss Johnstone gave clear instructions to the playground design company about what our students said they wanted.  Drawing on this input from the students, we have come up with this design...

... we think it is going to be amazing.  I can't wait to see it in reality!!

Thanks to all of our students for your great ideas and input, and to Miss Johnstone for you leadership in managing this project.

Mrs George update...

I am very pleased to announce that Mrs Sabrina George, who has been acting as Assistant Principal at Bimbadeen Heights PS this semester, has been appointed to the role in an ongoing capacity!

Mrs George served the KPS community for 17 years and we are very grateful for her wonderful contribution to our school over these years. We were privileged to honour Mrs George with a farewell celebration when she left to BHPS in June.  We extend our best wishes to Mrs George and her family as she takes on her new role permanently.
