I write this after a very busy parent/teacher/student conference held this week. It was great to see so many students and parents sit with teachers to discuss learning progress to this point of the year. The key aspect of these conferences that needs follow up is to put into action any suggestions made as how to improve performance in terms of work habits and the application of key knowledge and skills. This may involve follow up work over the holidays and the creation of revision folders particularly at year 11 and 12 levels. This type of work will be great preparation for second term which has many assessments in all year levels scheduled in mid-term and an exam period in week 9.
The start of term 2 will be a busy time for many students. Year 12 Geography camp is in week 1, JMSS athletics sports is in week 2 and we welcome our exchange students from MWITs in Thailand at the end of week 2 for a week.
Have a wonderful Easter!
It was great to see such good attendance last Thursday at the Reef and Rainforest information night for our third expedition to Far North Queensland this coming June. A reminder that all consent forms and waivers are now due, swimming practice would be a great holiday activity, and the final payment is due on May 23rd.
