MULTICULTURAL COMMITTEE NEWS

The Multicultural Committee has taken off, holding it’s first meeting for the term on Monday, 29 April.  At the meeting we had a  guest speaker, Charanbir Singh, Multicultural Services Officer from the Department of Human Services, who presented very informative aspects of his job role and the most common issues faced by new arrivals.  There may be a follow-up session held for VCAL students.  

There was also a productive discussion, generating lots of ideas about programs in the community offering different skills and knowledge that may be used to assist students, particularly those undertaking VCAL.  

Additionally, there are still some disadvantaged students that require materials for class such as books and other equipment to enable them to study.

The Multicultural Committee will hold one more meeting this term on Monday, 3 June at lunch time.  We hope you can join us.
