MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Middle Sub School Leader

Welcome back to Term Two, last term of the semester. All Middle School Students would have had holiday homework so please ask at home how this was going. I can’t stress enough how important it is Parents and Guardians access Compass- regular communication between home and school increases educational progress and is a real proactive approach to schooling, rather than only ever hearing when work is overdue or a class has been missed. At home you can stay abreast of what is happening in the classroom and become part of your child’s educational journey rather than passive observer.

Parents, families and carers are a child's first and most important teachers. The Australian Government has many initiatives and resources to help parents, schools and communities work together to improve their child's learning.

What is parent engagement?

Parent engagement in education is about parents and carers, schools and communities working together to ensure that every parent can play a positive role in their child's learning, school community, sport and social life.

Parents and families play an important role in supporting their child's education. Research has shown that when schools and families work together, children do better, stay in school longer, are more engaged with their school work, go to school more regularly, behave better and have better social skills. Parent engagement also results in longer term economic, social and emotional benefits.
