Principal Team

The end of the year is nearly upon us and we are busy finalising our work for 2017 and preparing for 2018.
ORIENTATION DAY
We welcomed our new Grade 6 students to Orientation Day on Tuesday and the excitement and anticipation was obvious. Mr Ben Murphy, Ms Julie Jerome and Ms Lisa Rowe and the Transition team have worked very closely with the primary schools to develop a comprehensive transition program to allow the new students to experience a taste of secondary school in preparation for next year. These young students are looking forward to next year and many positive comments were heard from smiling faces which was terrific to see.
PRESENTATION NIGHT
The Shepparton High School Presentation night will be held on Monday 18th December at Eastbank in Shepparton. The night will be a great opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of so many of our students throughout the year in a range of different fields – the arts, academic achievement, sport, leadership and citizenship. FIRST DAY STUDENT CONFERENCES 2018
To establish a foundation for successful learning, Shepparton High School will again be holding Student /Parent/Teacher Conferences to commence the school year in 2018.
The date for the First Day Conferences is Tuesday 30th January 2018. Year 7 and 12 students only will begin classes on Wednesday 31st January with all students beginning normal classes on Thursday 1st February. The purpose of the conferences is to enable all students, parents and teachers the opportunity to establish and continue to develop their relationships at the beginning of the school year.
The establishment of student learning goals is an important part of the process, involving
students in the development of skills for independent learning. It also gives us an opportunity to discuss responsibilities and expectations for the school year. There will be no scheduled classes on this day.
All enrolled students, accompanied by at least one parent/guardian (preferably both) are asked to come to school and meet with their Teacher Adviser for a 15 minute conference on Tuesday 30th January 2018. An online booking system will be used to schedule appointments for this day.
Details will be posted to all families next week regarding this start to the school year including instructions on how to make appointments using the online system or alternatively by contacting the General Office on 5821 4322. Please contact a member of the Principal team if you have any queries about this initiative.
