We want our parents/caregivers/guardians to tell us what they think!
The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents/caregivers/guardians (previously known as the Parent Opinion Survey). It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning. Mount Erin College will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
The delivery guidelines require the school to randomly select approximately 30 per cent of parents to be invited to participate in the survey, so as a result not all parents are able to participate and we strongly encourage those selected to complete the survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year, the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 2nd August to Friday 3rd September.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.
The survey results will be communicated to parents/caregivers/guardians through the annual reporting process.
Mount Erin College takes this feedback seriously and we use the information gained from the surveys to set improvement targets for the school.
The Five Ways To Wellbeing
Recently our Wellbeing and Inclusion Leader, Amanda publicised the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. Research shows there are five simple things you can do as part of your daily life – at work and at home – to build resilience, boost your wellbeing and lower your risk of developing mental health problems. These simple actions are known internationally as the 'Five Ways to Wellbeing'.
The Wellbeing Team at Mount Erin College are adopting this as the framework to support our students.
Watch this space for more information, but for now here’s the lowdown on the Five Ways to Wellbeing. What can you do today to support your wellbeing?
