What time is it? Performing Arts!

Year Prep - 2

The junior students have continued to work on their dance skills during remote learning and returning back to school. Students have explored how to be inspired by a character or situation to create a sequence of actions. During remote learning this included themes of different animals and emotions. It was great to see students perform in the space at home!

Year 3 - 6

The senior students have continued to work on their drama skills during remote learning and returning back to school. During remote learning, students explored how to apply their voice and movement to a range of improvisation activities. They worked on speaking loudly and clearly through saying tongue twisters and using big actions in the space with mime scenarios. Students were provided with a choice of a monologue to perform and evaluate their performance. It was fantastic to see the effort of students performing at home!

School Events

Alpha Shows will be presenting a musical production of, 'BEAUTY AND THE BEAST' at our school as soon as COVID restrictions allow.

Beauty and the Beast is a full theatrical musical especially for children and will be a memorable event that your child will not want to miss out on! It has a powerful social & emotional learning (SEL) focus on beliefs and self-image. The show combines all that is loved about any version of the classic fairy tale you could imagine. Alpha's version is grounded in love through letting go of old beliefs, old rules and all that prevents us from loving others fully without fear and anger. It's also incredibly funny and silly, as well as very touching and dramatic. The show helps the audience believe in themselves through a process of letting go of negative emotions by feeling them fully, so they can feel happy easily, treat others with love and have fun.
