Engineering Aqueducts

Last week, the Year 5 GATE students constructed and tested their Aqueducts. This process consisted of students researching, planning, constructing, and culminating in the testing. With bated breath, we watched as water flowed through all 3, with various levels of success. It was a rich learning experience for our students.

Thank you to the boys and Mrs Lissa Coleman.

Science in Junior School

This term the Year 5's have been exploring states of matter, learning about the changes between a solid, liquid and gas. In one investigation, we made predictions about gases and if they have mass. We were surprised to find out that many of our predictions were incorrect! We learned that even though we can't see most gasses they do in fact have mass! We used balloons and made a scale to help us investigate.

Interviews

Parent/teacher/interviews are an opportunity for parents/carers and teachers to discuss student progress and emphasise the partnership between home and school in developing each child to their full potential.

A key factor in student learning is their own disposition to learning and for this reason, it is important to determine student successes and goals in this meeting. Include students in these meetings when possible.

Instructions will be emailed on how to book an interview time with the class teacher, on Monday, 3 April.

Ignite Awards

There is an Ignite meeting this coming Monday, 3 April at lunchtime in 4W. Those who are interested in their sons participating in Ignite, please see the information below.

Uniform and Presentation Requirements

School holidays is a time where many students have haircuts. As a College, we are looking to adopt a ‘one school’ approach in terms of expectations and opportunities and therefore we will be adopting the same Uniform and Presentation expectations for all students from Years 4-12.
