Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

A big thank you again to all the staff and volunteers for their efforts in making Monday's Athletics Event such a great day.  Although it was very busy, the day progressed smoothly. Congratulations and thank you to students for their cooperation, participation, team work and achievement on the day.  We were very impressed by student's encouragement of others, as well as the level of competition and pride shown in their achievement.

Many thanks also to the Tawonga South Butchery, along with George Western Foods and Woolworths for supporting our fundraising efforts and helping to feed the hungry competitors!  As a result $440 was raised towards the purchase of new sports equipment.

Thank you also to everyone for their support with selling tickets for our Easter Raffle and congratulations to our lucky winners!

Many thanks again to Amanda for her organisation and to everyone who

contributed to the prize pool.  As a result, we have raised an amazing $4358.65 towards asphalting works and and additional $283 towards purchasing additional library books.

Our Crazy Hair/Clothes Day provided lots of fun and smiles today.  Our thanks to everyone for their generosity which helped us to raise $130 for Cancer Research.

Families are invited to apply for CSEF funding through the following link. Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF): Resources | education.vic.gov.au  if you have not applied already or have been rolled over from previous years.  To qualify for this funding, families need to have a Health Care card (or an equivalent concession card).   We encourage families who can, to take up this program of $125/student to go towards costings of camps and excursions for their children.  Applications remain open for this year until the 23rd June 2023.

As the term draws to a close, I would like to thank all our families for their ongoing support and assistance with our programs and events.  I would also like to give a big shout out to our staff, who have all worked so hard to support students in their learning this term and to provide them with so many different experiences and activities along the way.  We have had a great and productive term, thanks to their combined efforts.   A big thank you also to all our OSCH staff for their support of students before and after school.  OSHC will be providing vacation care from Easter Tuesday, and bookings can be made online.

I would also like to extend our best wishes to all the Falls Creek staff, students and families as they prepare to return to their base school.  We have all appreciated the opportunity to be able to work so closely over the last two terms and have really valued your flexibility, participation and collegiality.  We certainly hope that the close working relationships we have established, can continue into the future.
