Student Wellbeing Update

Talking the Talk - Sexuality and Body Safety Education
Once again this term, our whole school will be taking part in the 'Talking the Talk' Sexuality Education program at school. During these sessions, students will explore and learn about healthy sexuality, consent & respectful relationships in an age-appropriate way in their classrooms with their teacher.
The Talking The Talk program is designed by Vanessa Hamilton, an experienced sexual health nurse, sexuality educator and mum of three.
This will be the third year that the program has run at SKiPPS and we love the way that these important concepts are introduced and explained in a sensitive and plain manner and built on logically from year to year.
More details will be going home early next week about the student program and, prior to the classroom sessions starting, Vanessa is offering a free online parent seminar at 8pm on Monday 8th May to help you to have conversations about body safety, consent, sex and reproduction with your own children in the right way.
We know that it can be a challenge to have these conversations and to know what level of detail to provide, but it is also really important that children are supported to learn and understand age-appropriate information about sex and sexuality to stop them from seeking out this information and content in inappropriate ways and places.
This webinar will help you to navigate this tricky process.
