Term 1 was a very busy term for both the students and staff of St John’s.

During the term, activities such as the House Aquatics Carnival, Year 7 Camp, SIS sport, Year 12 Retreat, SIS Performing Arts and the House Athletics Carnival took place.  The students had many opportunities to get involved in a variety of activities.

The Phoenix students throughout Term 1 ran a Valentine’s Day stall and an Easter Raffle. These Phoenix House fund raising activities raised a profit of over $500. These profits were donated to Project Compassion.

This was a fabulous effort from Phoenix students and we thank all the students who purchased items from our stalls.

Hello Everyone,

At lunchtime on Tuesday 2 May, The Inter Homeroom Volleyball Competition began. This School activity involves all the homerooms in all the Houses at St John’s, playing in a round robin competition. Phoenix got off to a winning start. The students of PH3 played against the students of MO3. Phoenix 3 came from behind to win by three points. Well done PH3! The rest of the Phoenix homerooms are now under pressure to keep the winning streak going. It was wonderful to see so many students participating in the games and students not playing coming to cheer on their friends.

In Term 1 we had both the College Aquatics and Athletics Carnivals. It was great to see the amazing students of Phoenix try their best at both events. The Phoenix students contributed to the Carnivals by cheering our chant proudly and wearing red. As a result of showing such great House Spirit at the Aquatics Carnival, Phoenix won the House Spirit Award. I'm so proud of this wonderful achievement.

I can’t wait to see more students getting involved in activities that are running throughout Term 2.
