Michaelmas House News

End of Term

Greetings for the final time this term from Michaelmas House as boarding winds down towards the mid-year holidays. It has been a busy term, with school and sporting commitments, and many boarding activities.

Farewell, Paula

It is with sadness that we farewell our wonderful Gap Assistant at the end of this term. Miss Paula Ortiz  resided in Endeavour House for Terms Three and Four last year and moved to Michaelmas House at the commencement of this year. During her time here at Great Southern Grammar, she has made an enormous contribution both in the classroom and in the boarding community.  Paula is returning to Columbia and will commence a Business Administration degree at University upon her return.

In Term Three we will welcome our new Gap Assistant, Miss Lea Sophie Von Graberg from Germany for twelve months. Lea is a keen musician and we look forward to her becoming part of the Michaelmas family.

Happy Birthday

Recently, Brent Crowley celebrated his 15th birthday.  Happy Birthday, Brent.

I take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful and safe holiday with your children and we look forward to another busy and successful Term Three.

Leaders Report

Last Saturday night we had the wonderful opportunity to sleep out together in the common room lounge. This was a great bonding experience for the girls. We shared many laughs and memories as well as weird, bamboozled tastings that had many of us running to the bin! The night was mainly about spending quality time with each other. Most of all, it was the last weekend we shared with our amazing Gap Assistant, Miss Ortiz, before she heads home to Columbia after being in boarding for the past year.  The night was organised by Isabel, Natalie, Brianna and Miss Ortiz.  Everyone put a small donation in that was used for great, tasty purposes. Overall, the night was great for everyone to reconnect and the girls are now closer than ever.
