Woolworths Discovery Garden - Pots of Fun

Students in the Year 2-3 Unit are looking at Healthy Eating in Term 4. They would love to have each of our sixty three students have their own Woolworths Discovery Garden, 'Pots of Fun' to grow seeds in. If you could send your pots to school, we would greatly appreciate it. We will have a box in the Year 2-3 area near the teachers’ staffroom.

Walk to School
M. Downes
Merbein P-10 College will be participating in 'Walk to School' from now until the end of October. The 'Walk to School' program encourages Victorian primary school kids to walk, ride or scoot to and from school. At Merbein P-10, our students will be encouraged to participate in a walking club, walking around the school oval, starting at 8.40am every Friday for the month of October. As an extra incentive to participate students receive one free entry voucher to the Mildura Waves Pool which is posted below in this article. Families must present this voucher at The Waves during the month of October. Our school can be in the running to receive more prizes if most of our students will walk to school. So dust off your shoes and bikes and walk/ride to school this month.

Library News
Please ensure your child returns their books each week and brings a waterproof Library Bag for their Library books on the following days.

Green Building Awards
Reminder that students in Years P-3 receive awards at a weekly assembly every Friday at 2.50pm. Families are welcome to attend these assemblies held in the Green Building.
Merbein Community Bank School Student Banking Program
If you wish your child to participate in this program, please send your child’s bankbook along to the Green Building Office every Thursday morning. The Bank will collect and process your child’s banking and then drop the bank book back to school before the end of the school day.
No Hat No Play
During Term 4, all primary students are required to wear a hat out in the yard at recess and lunch times. The school policy is 'No Hat No Play'. If you need to purchase a hat for your child you can do so at the school's main office.
