Dear TPS community

What a fantastic day we had at this year’s Arts Festival. The weather was perfect, and the school looked spectacular with the circus theme! It may well have been the best Arts Festival so far, with so many people attending and such incredible performances by the children! Wow!!

Thank you to everyone for your fantastic efforts Friday night with set up and then again Saturday morning. Special thank you to the stall coordinators, teachers, parents and children for such AMAZING food options this year. Not only was it healthy, but we saw lots of vegan and vegetarian options too! We were also really pleased with the reduction in rubbish, and we hope to get better at this each year.

This year, with the combined efforts of everyone, we managed to raise, $12,700. An incredible effort and the best to date.

Of course, there are some special mentions that need to be made!

The parent festival team - Kester, Olivia, Di, Sylvie, Laura and Yaz.

Kester called the meetings and had a great overview of everything concerning the festival.

Olivia was all over the stalls, keeping the coordinators informed and supported.

Di was our creative director, who did all the signage, designs and flyers.

Yaz did the door knocking to collect vouchers and lots of other donations.

Also Laura did the incredible map design for the layout and the stall locations.

Thank you to everyone for your tireless work and incredible enthusiasm! We hope you will do it all again next year!

A big thank you to all the stall coordinators:

  • Prep S & 5/6A Chai Stall: Danielle Thomas and Anna Cumming
  • Prep S & 5/6A Flyin Fox Icy Poles: Emily Barrow
  • Prep A & B Nachos/Corn/Hot Dogs: Koren Patterson and Olivia Stewart
  • 1/2C, 1/2A, 3/4B & 5/6B BBQ, Burgers & Sausage Sizzle: Travis Vella and Gina Pilven (teachers James and Dareen)
  • 3/4A Falafel: Yvette Walker and Jess and Deb (staff)
  • 1/2B & 3/4C Fruit Kebabs & Lemonade: Elissa Wilson
  • 5/6 C Popcorn/Drinks: Alia Nicholls
  • 1S Coffee/Iced: Coffee: Marcus Frango
  • 1/2 D & 1/2 C Zooper Doopers: Louise Ryan and Adele Harris
  • 5/6S & 3/4S Cake Stall: Peta Reilly and Susie Novella
  • 2S Afternoon Tea: Sandra Antunes, Odette Mazel and Lizzy Skinner

Our crafty ladies:

Bernadette Schell, Megan Phillips, Sally Skinner, Annabel Walsh, Joanne Kummrow, Tamsin Maxwell and Yaz Ash, who meet every Wednesday in the art room and create amazing craft works. The craft stall and the gods eye making workshop were a huge success, and no doubt a highlight for many!

Also a huge thanks to Viv and Malini, who had the kid’s queuing up to have their face’s painted.

Brian we can’t wait to see your secret video of the people you interviewed during the festival.

Deadly students:

A special mention to students Luca Healy and Ege Erbus who worked for many hours on the popcorn stall.

Also, the students on the nail art / tattoo stall: Scout Miller, Frankie Willcox and Clea Carney who did a wonderful job at their stall.

All the many students who assisted with carrying the art and craft to the Babajen and assisting with the displays. Then on Tuesday taking down the displays, carrying it all back to the art room and then handing it back to classes. A mammoth walkathon completed!

Finally, to the TPS community for making the day extra special for our students. You came, you admired the art and craft work, you laughed and cheered the performances and ate the lovely food on offer. To everyone who dressed up or did something extra special to make the day a success, we are very grateful! Special thanks to Mish, Araleena and Georgia!

THANK YOU from the parents/carers Craft Group

Kii everyone!

The Wednesdays parents/carers craft group would sincerely like to say thank you to everyone who visited our stand. Some came to look and compliment whilst many came to buy something. We were nearly cleaned out of stock by end of the day.

The raffle raised about $370, Oscar, Jonesy, Neve, Toshi and their other sea creature friends would also like to thank you for all your appreciation and support. Toni R, a TPS family was the winner of the raffle.

A small portion of what we made from sales will be donated to VACCA, in particular where Koorie colours themed items were sold.

Our group welcome anyone of any skills level or no skill level. We each bring something to the group, be it a skill or friendship or just support. So if you feel inclined please feel free to turn up on Wednesdays at Art room after drop off (also email us at TPScraftGroup@gmail.com in case plans changed for that day). We’re usually there for the whole day (maybe nick off for lunch).

We would also like to acknowledge and thank the following parents/carers for their valuable and most appreciated contribution to the craft group through the year Megan Phillips, Sally Skinner, Annabel Walsh, Jo Krumrow and Tamsin Maxwell. And of course to Antoinette for allowing us to raid her cupboards.

We hope you enjoy all your purchases. Hopefully we’ll be at the next BBQ.

Best regards

Bernie & Yaz

OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE

Hello from the OSHC room

It’s coming to the end of the year and we need to start planning for next years enrolments. All current bookings will end on the last day of term and new arrangements will need to be made in order to hold bookings for 2020.

To ensure places for next year’s program families will need to complete a new booking form and update their enrolment/s either by filling out a new form or checking and confirming that the current details are correct.

Just a reminder all families need to be on Debit Success by now as it’s the only way the program is accepting payment in 2020. In addition to this, if there is any outstanding balance due at the end of the year no bookings will be accepted so please make sure if you need to catch up now is the time.

Thanks from Andi and the OSHC team
