2020 Rivera clay shooting school championships

We got on the bus to go to Bairnsdale at 8:30 when we got there we had to put on vests that said we were from M.S.C then we took our guns over to the administration to get checked in. At first we couldn’t get the guns out of the cases because they had been locked by someone and they had never been locked ever so we had to break the locks to get into them!

Once we got all that sorted we sat down at our tables and listened to what was going to be happening for the day. Our 2 teams, one junior team and a senior team, had our paper work stuffed up because something went wrong with emailing it through, so we were teams 28 and 29 and we were the last teams to shoot on the day.

There were 2 rounds. They were run before lunch break and after lunch. There were 5 stands in each round and we got 2 shots at each target in the stands.

They supplied the ammo so when you had your gun you just had to walk into the cage and they would hand you 1 bullet and then you would have a shot at the target. You would get to shoot each target twice.

We were all a bit nervous to start with but then as we got through the stands we all started to warm up to each other. I think all our favourite on was the rabbit. It was where there was a little orange disc got shoot out of a machine along the ground and you had to shoot it. It was really fun!

We didn’t get to stay for presentations as our group ran a little late and by the time our 2 groups had finished the presentations had basically. We had to get the guns packed and get back to school because some people had to get on the bus as it was a normal school day for the rest of the school.

I had a really good day (even though I was the only girl).
