What makes our team unique!

Getting to know our team

As the Staff Team at CURIOSITY ELC have been coming together, it is encouraging to hear each member share about their passion for early learning and childhood awakening.  Here are some of the individual philosophy statements from each of our dedicated CURIOSITY educators.  More to come next time...……

Mrs Karen Winderlich

I believe:

· That children are miracles – born into this world to live and to love and to learn as competent, capable and curious members of a learning group – and all of this cushioned in the beautifully nurturing and supportive environment of positive attachment relationships.

· That the early years are to be cherished for the opportunities and possibilities they provide for children to design and construct both knowledge and relationships – as independent and interdependent learners who have their own gaze on the world, their own ways of encountering others, and their own ways of interpreting and expressing their ideas.

· That young children have an inherent curiosity and desire to learn through experience, investigation, discovery and problem-solving, and that in response the role of the teacher in this context is to create and present opportunities for engagement and active learning in a play-based environment which has a focus on inquiry, creativity, and the child’s right to participation.

Mrs Kira Robb

I believe that each child has their own unique way of learning. Children learn through play that is interactive, engaging and creative. I believe that no matter what age we are that we can all learn from one another.

Mrs Michelle Webb

As an educator, it is important to recognise an individual's cultural background and be respectful to their diversity.  Building trusting relationships with children and families is important so children have a sense of trust and belonging in their learning environment and educators.  By working together and supporting each other, we can promote a rich learning environment that supports and meets the needs of children whilst commencing their learning journey.
