Remote Learning Communication

Our Rollins community have remained in contact through various means during this COVID-19 lockdown period. This is a foreign situation we all find ourselves in and we are all doing the best we can to stay connected. 

At Rollins we strive to deliver a sound program as best we can remotely to parents and students. 

We are very aware of what works well for some parents, students and other schools, but are conscious that certain approaches may not for others, and this is a balance we are challenged with daily and appreciate your understanding, respect and patience during this period.

Below is a snapshot of the great things we are doing currently:

• Sign-in procedures before 11 am are working very well across the board (DoJo for Prep-4 and Google Classroom for 5/6),
• Recorded morning messages by teachers to inform students of their work for the week or day,
• Work is being assigned and submitted for feedback via Dojo for Prep-2 and Google Classroom for 3-6,
• Some hard copy packs have been created for some year levels and sign out procedures in place to account for you has or hasn't collected,
• Regular phone contact from staff to parents 1-1, and also with children via loudspeaker,
• Loom or other recorded video demonstrations by teachers to help break down a lesson to provide further clarity to parents and students,
• Surveys from learning teams to parents and students to get a gauge of wellbeing and learning styles and applying this feedback to improve delivery.
