The Great Book Swap
We are holding our annual Great Book Swap on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th September.
Students are asked to bring along a book that they are prepared to swap and a gold coin donation to choose another book. The money raised is for the Indigenous Literacy foundation who work to put books in the hands of children in remote Indigenous communities across Australia.
Happy Reading!
Mathematics News from Mr Reed
In Foundation, the students have been looking at their ‘Friends of 10’ facts for addition. These facts are important as it provides students with an understanding of all the pairs of numbers that equal ten. Quick practise and discussion of these facts is a great way to help at home. You can work with your child on learning the facts and showing them using different materials from around the house.
Once students are confident with the addition facts they can use these to understand related subtraction facts e.g. If I know that 7+3=10 then I also know that 10-7=3
Have a look at this awesome 'Friends of 10’ video!
