GaGa Pit
We are so proud of the way that our Rangeview students are engaging with each other this year. It is wonderful to see so many positive games and free play in the playgrounds at break times. We have started play in our new GaGa Pit located at the end of the green mile. This game was a legacy project from the Grade 6 of 2018. The student’s chose to hold a Hot Chocolate fundraising day on Billy Cart Day and they raised $400! This paid for the materials for constructing the GaGa pit. Our Groundsman Mr McGowan built the pit and our Grade 6 students painted it and decorated it with their handprints. The rules of the game are displayed on the outside of the pit and since they went up last week it has been a huge success! Groups of students from across the school are playing it at break times every day. In the coming weeks we will put down fake turf to create a less dusty experience for the students.
Harmony Day
Harmony Day is again the 21st March this year which is Thursday this week! Students can come in a costume which represents their heritage or can wear orange – the Harmony Day colour. We will be running special activities across the school in the morning and sharing a class lunch – we encourage students to bring food to share. There will be a Harmony Day special assembly at 245 and all are welcome.
We have displayed a world map in the foyer of the school and every student will have the opportunity to place coloured dots onto the map to represent the birthplace of their parents. We will publish a completed photo of this whole school project after Harmony Day.
