Design Solutions in Food Technology

Over the last two weeks in Year 8 Food Technology, students have been working on a design solution challenge. They were required to prepare and cook a pizza for two, within one hour. This was a daunting task given the timeframe but the students showed great creativity and talent, cooking a range of very tasty pizzas. While not all attempts were successful, we certainly uncovered some hidden talents and learnt some new recipes for a fast pizza dough.

Student Megan Okely said, "I enjoyed the pizza but our dough was a bit undercooked. Next time we cook a pizza, we need to put our dough in (the oven) for slightly longer. My team was brilliant. We divided the tasks between the three of us. I did the toppings while Crystal and Cloe made the dough."

I hope the students can practise what they learnt and whip up a quick pizza to share with their families!

St Anne's Singers Perform

The School of Innovation's St Anne's Singers had their first performance at assembly on March 13th. Well done to the students for overcoming their nerves and performing a lovely rendition of Bruises by Lewis Capaldi. The singers have been rehearsing at lunchtime on Thursdays and Fridays this term with Learning Mentor Sean O'Brien. Any SOI students who are interested in joining St Anne's Singers are welcome to attend.

Staying Active with Volleyball Sessions

The Year 7 and 8 students have been learning volleyball skills during their Physical Education sessions, firstly at the Shepparton Stadium and then this week in the College grounds. It has been great to see them working as a team, being respectful towards each other and helping each other succeed.

School Finishes Early on Last Day of Term

Please note that school will finish at 2:15pm on the last day of Term One, Friday, March 27th. This is due to a change in the bus schedule for that day.
