Performing Arts Report

Achilles Community

Students have enjoyed rehearsing scripted based drama and exploring vocal expression, movement and gestures to develop their character. The scripted drama was based on occupations they would like to be when they grow up, including doctors, police, artists and celebrities. Students successfully brought their performance to life when showing their final presentation to the junior students and community learning teachers.

Ulysses Community

Students have been working hard to develop their confidence, expression and characters in their scenes with their partners in drama. They enjoyed using props and costume to enhance their performance. Students became characters that ranged from witches and wizards to old-aged fishermen. They have successfully explored a range of acting techniques to improvise their characters in the space and entertain their audience.

Choir Club

Students from Foundation to Year 6 have enjoyed learning the song, 'When I Grow Up' form they hit musical, Matilda. Students continued to build their confidence through physical and vocal warm-ups as well as getting a chance to sing solos in rehearsals. Next term, they will be learning, 'Castle on a Cloud' from the musical,  Les Miserables.  This will incorporate character movements as well as aim to develop their stage presence.
