NAIDOC Week Celebrations 2019

Last week Lalor Secondary College celebrated NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This year’s theme was Voice. Treaty. Truth. Working together for a shared future. To celebrate we ran a number of activities throughout the week. Monday saw students participate in Aboriginal painting in the Art Room. Tuesday was dreamtime stories and a didgeridoo performance by Jaykob Taylor supported by Nikky Geddes. On Wednesday Mr Matzke and the Koorie students cooked up a storm at the community barbeque. Students and staff were treated to Kangaroo sausages and Kangaroo sausage rolls. It was a wonderful way to end a week of celebrations.
