From the Principal's desk

As we head into the second half of Term 2, we welcome Rob Smith back into the fold after his recent leave. We also thank Lyn Young for filling in for Mr Smith so admirably over the past six weeks.

With the cooler temperatures, it has been great that we have been able to use Aquamoves in Shepparton for our swimming program. The swimming lessons are going well and the students are really engaged. It has been terrific to have such great attendance too. Learning to swim is a very important life skill and it is great that so much progress is being made with survival skills and stroke development.

Some new arrangements have recently come into place regarding school uniform acquisition in Numurkah. Mensland, as many will know, is closing down soon and uniform will now be sold from SPORTF1RST Numurkah, at the bottom of Melville Street. It has been great to see the students wearing their winter uniform in the cooler conditions.

As a school, we will be practicing our emergency procedures with a drill next Tuesday 6th June. This is a great opportunity for everyone to rehearse what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency. Students sometimes find emergency drills confronting at first, however after a few practices, they become quite accustomed to the routine.

It was great to see so many families taking advantage of the onsite dental van last week. This makes up an important part of our supportive wellbeing program at Numurkah Primary.

Finally, the students continue to work hard on their literacy and numeracy skills and have completed some great projects recently. Keep up the great work everyone!

Mr Harrington
