Co-Curricular Update

Primary Athletics

The Primary Athletics carnival was held at Jack Eddy Oval. All of our primary students had a great day with Perricoota taking out the win in an extremely close finish. Well done to all of our primary students who participated in the day and a special mention to all of our age champions. Thanks to all of our Year 10 PASS students and our secondary school leaders who assisted in the running of the carnival.

Regional AFL/NSW Football

On Tuesday, the senior girls football team headed to Leeton to compete in the Regional AFL/NSW Senior School Cup. We started the day at 7:45am with a 3.5 hour journey ahead. We arrived at Leeton just in time for our big game. Mr McMahon ran a great warm up that got the girls pumped for the game.

The girls ran out onto the field with high hopes. The first bounce was strong, and the girls went in hard to contest the ball. Isabelle Barber, Charlize Weeks, Zoe McCallum, Olivia Davy and Maya Pollock did amazing tackles during the course of the day, earning themselves a couple of free kicks.

Our defence was in the firing line, they had plenty of action coming their way with the football and people coming at them from all angles. We unfortunately lost despite the girls putting in their best efforts and putting everything on the line. We had the best time and can’t wait for next year.

Thanks to Mr McMahon and Miss Thompson for taking a day out of their busy schedule for us. Also, a huge thanks to Meg and Maisie for keeping us hydrated throughout the game.

RAS Cross Country

On Wednesday our RAS Cross Country Team travelled to the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Track to compete in our interschool cross country. All the students had a great day and all participated to the best of their abilities. We did have some great results with Cleo Haw Finishing 2nd in the 10 year old Girls and Marcelle Cordner finished just behind her in 3rd.

We also had Eli Teasdale-Dohnt finish 5th in his 9 year boys age group, Cleo Guinan finish 5th in the 9 year old girls and Peaches Starritt finish 7th in the 12 years girls.

We will await to see which students have qualified for CIS in Sydney.

Thank you to Mrs Patten and Beau Starritt for all their help on the day organising students and making sure no student missed their race.

2023 Campaspe Primary Soccer – Year 5 and 6 School Competition

On Friday May 5th the school participated in the annual Campaspe Primary Schools Soccer Competition. We entered teams in the A Grade Boys and Girls divisions, along with two teams in the B Grade mixed (boys & girls) competition.

The A Grade Boys had 9 schools in their draw and played some exciting soccer throughout the day and finished up placing 3rd. This was a pleasing achievement for the boys who were very well coached and supported by Mr Alan Davidson. Our A Grade Girls squad were fortunate to have the experience of being coached by Paige Pinson, and they responded to her encouragement and motivation by matching the boy’s performance and also placing 3rd out of 9 teams.

Our two mixed teams made up of our boys and girls from year 5 competed in two Pools throughout the day, one in Pool A and the other in Pool B. The Pool A team was well guided and coached by Dylan Scoble, and the Pool B team by Mr Kevin Turner. At the conclusion of the Pool games both our mixed teams topped their respective pools and played off in the mixed Grand Final. The final was tightly contested with chances being created by both teams. In the end the teams were separated by just the one goal, final score was a 1-0 victory to our Pool B team.

Congratulations to all our Year 5 and 6 students who displayed wonderful sportsmanship and endeavour, as well as being respectful to their opposition and the officials throughout the day. Thank you to our Coaches and Mr Anthony McMahon for his support and making the day an enjoyable experience for our students.
