NAIDOC Assembly Dance Rehearsal

The Aboriginal Students at Trinity College have been diligently rehearsing for their upcoming NAIDOC Assembly Dance, pouring their efforts into bringing the performance to life. This year's dance revolves around the captivating theme of "the wave." The choreography seamlessly transitions from "the wave" into a segment called "spirit" and ultimately concludes with the exuberant Gnumby, a traditional celebration circle.

The essence of this dance is deeply rooted in honouring the NAIDOC theme for 2023, "For Our Elders." Drawing inspiration from the constant force of water against a steadfast rock, we symbolize the enduring strength displayed by the elders within our community. They have remained resolute and unwavering as life's challenges crashed upon them. With great reverence, we hold their spirits in high regard (captured within the segment titled "spirit") and joyfully celebrate their wisdom and contributions through the spirited Gnumby ritual.
