Immersions Depart

Last Friday we commissioned the young men and staff participating in our two immersions to East New Britain in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and to Alice Springs. The Alice Springs immersion involves building upon our relationship with the fellas from St Jospeh’s Flexi-Learning Centre and in PNG with the Edmund Rice Life Centre, Old Vuvu Partnership.

The following young men from Year 11 were presented to and blessed by the College at Assembly and then shared Mass and a meal together with their parents in the evening as we sent them on their way.

Winter Sleep Out Update

A reminder that the Winter Sleepout takes place this year on Friday 21 July after school until 8:00 AM on 22 July (the next morning). Boys were asked to sign up via an online form last week. There has been an enormous amount of support for this event with over 400 boys putting their names down to participate.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate anywhere near this number and so places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis with priority being given to members of SJAG, FIAT and Junior School Justice Groups.

A permission slip will be sent to those students and parents/carers who have been offered a place at the Winter Sleepout. If you do not receive a permission slip by email, unfortunately you have not secured a place this year.

You will need to print the letter, complete, and sign the Consent and Medical Information and return it to the front office by the first day of Term 3 – Monday 17 July. If, in the meantime, your circumstances have changed and your son is no longer able to participate, it is very important that you let me know by email, so that this place can be offered to someone else.
