Music Matters

Year 12 Major Works Day – last Friday our Year 12 Music students were able to spend the day rehearsing their HSC performance pieces with their accompanists and working on elective compositions. We are extremely fortunate to be given this valuable time in the academic calendar, and our students made great progress. Our next scheduled rehearsal date is Sunday, 23 July.

No doubt parents and families are looking forward to hearing some great performances at the upcoming events. PAPA is putting on a BBQ on Friday 2nd June, so that students can eat before the concert which commences at 5pm. Families are most welcome to purchase a sausage sandwich /drink also. The BBQ will be starting around 3pm to ensure we can feed hungry performers before the show. We are looking for a few parent volunteers between 2:30pm-5pm so if you are able to lend a hand with the BBQ set up and cooking that would be greatly appreciated. Please email Natalie Lenton on natalielenton@optusnet.com.au if you can assist at all.

Stage Crew: We are looking for Drama and Music students to volunteer as stage crew for our upcoming concerts. Students will need to wear black/dark colours and be available for a couples of hours. Year 10 students can use these hours as Eddie Rice hours. If interested, please ask your son to come and see me.

In addition to these concerts, we have the following Performing Arts events:

  • TONIGHT.  Wednesday 24 May - 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm - Forestville RSL Concert (Senior Jazz Ensemble).  Special thanks to Mr Geoff Power for the amazing work he does with our Senior Jazz students and for this performance opportunity.  All welcome.  Tickts are available at the door.

HSC Major Work Day

Students in Year 12 Drama had a very productive day working on their Group Project. The GP is an original devised play presented in groups of 3-6. They are developing their Group Performance using a variety of playbuilding techniques and approaches.
