Class of 2020

The year 2020 has denied our students many highly anticipated events on the school calendar: interschool sport, cabaret, the celebration of our students’ artworks, the school production, debating, representation at state and national level, the list goes on. Our Year 12 students were particularly impacted by the cancellation of these events as, for many of our students, these events would have allowed them to showcase the culmination of six years of dedication and hard work.

Fortunately though, the easing of COVID restrictions in mid-November allowed our Year 12's to experience three significant end-of-year celebrations: the traditional dress-up celebration day, a graduation ceremony and a Valedictory Luncheon. These occasions may have looked different to those of the past, but they provided our Year 12's with the opportunity to reflect on and celebrate their achievements and time at Ballarat High School together one last time. An enormous thank you to all the staff who worked for hours behind the scenes to ensure these days ran smoothly.

On behalf of Ballarat High School, I congratulate the Class of 2020 on successfully completing what has been an exceptionally difficult year and wish all our graduating Year 12s love, happiness, and success in all their future endeavors for 2021 and beyond.
