As you know, all Victorian schools are moving to a three-day period of remote and flexible learning from Monday 15 February to Wednesday 17 February inclusive.
As we did last year, we will do all we can to support the wellbeing of all our students and to ensure that, as much as possible, learning continues over these three days.
Information that might be of assistance to you in talking to your child about COVID-19 is available. If you are concerned about your wellbeing or that of your child, please contact the school so we can talk with you about how we can best assist. Other sources of support include: Parent Line 13 22 89 and Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800.
The Department COVID-19 helpline is also available on Sunday 14 February and weekdays from 8:30am to 5pm on 1800 338 663. If you know a family who speak a language or languages other than English and you know they would like further information, interpreting services are available by phoning 131 450 first.
For families with a child with a disability, the Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) has additional information.
Our teachers are continuing to develop our Learn@Home Website MPRPS Learning From Home Website https://sites.google.com/education.vic.gov.au/mprps4808/home which includes activities and links for all curriculum areas. In addition to this Year 3-6 students will have class check-ins at 9.00am each day via Zoom and Year 1/2 students via Google Meet beginning Tuesday, 16th.
Google Meet
Students in 1/2 will connect with their teachers and peers via Google Meet at 9:30am on Tuesday and Wednesday. Should Remote Learning begin on Thursday, 1/2 will continue with the time of 9:30am, and Foundation students will have a check-in with their class & teacher at 10am. Google Meet can be accessed via an app or web browser on a computer/laptop or mobile device. If you need assistance with Google Meet you can try the troubleshooting site or contact the school.
At this stage -Foundation will be provided with a paper pack to pick up Tuesday and students booked into assessments on Wednesday should still attend and continue to follow our COVID19 precautions.
The Department has a range of options for you to continue to support your child in their learning, available at the Learning from Home webpage.
A web page with Learning from Home tips is also available at: Support your child’s learning
and this is available in more than 30 languages on Translated advice about learning from home.
Our school will provide on-site supervision for students in the following categories:
If you work in essential services and need to send your child to school, please contact Ally in Reception, if you have not already done so, to confirm your child’s attendance on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday this week, including any requirements for half-day supervision. This will allow us to put appropriate arrangements in place. A form will be required to be filled out when you bring your child to school.
And, finally, a reminder that if you, your child, or a family member develops symptoms of COVID-19 you should get tested at a COVID-19 testing facility and stay home.
Each family should regularly check the list of public exposure sites in Victoria (where a person with COVID-19 has attended), and if anyone in the family has attended a site at the times listed, follow the instructions given.
Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or contact the school if you have any concerns.
