Jay Henry, Sports Captain - Cranbourne

What do you see as your role as a leader?

What I see as my role as male sports captain, is to lead by example by showing up to all sporting events, participating as much as possible in all SIS and house activities. I also see myself as being a role model for young students, by acting in an appropriate manner and being respectful to others. 

What is one of the positives about being a student at St. Peter's College?

The positives of being a St. Peter's student is the access provided for tutors, counsellors and learning opportunities. Especially in the VCE years of schooling.  

Who is the one person you admire most and why?

The person I admire is my dad, he inspires me to be the best version of myself. Is a great role model for me, and sets a great example for myself and my siblings.

What are your goals as Captain in 2023?

As sports Captain my goals are to improve the levels of participation as exercise can help with many things, I also aim to encourage the younger students to be the best versions of themselves.

Let your light shine will live through my role as male sports captain, as I'll be the best person I can be, so I am a good role model for the younger students.

Alannah Egan, Sports Captain - Cranbourne

What do you see as your role as a leader?

I see my role as someone who can be a good representative of others within the college and to be someone that students feel comfortable to come to if they ever feel the need. As a sport captain I see my role as someone who is involved and encourages others to be involved in as many sport activities as they would like.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St. Peter's College?

The opportunities that come with being a member of St Peter’s college is something that I am very grateful for.  I love being able to come to school each day and be surrounded by people who support me and my learning.

Who is the one person you admire most and why?

Someone I admire is ex AFL player, Brent Harvey. With 432 games, he has the current record for most AFL games played. He currently still works for the North Melbourne Football Club, helping to build the next level of great players.

What are your goals as Captain in 2023?

My goal this year is to have sports be even more inclusive at our school. Sport is a great resource to turn to in a stressful week. I would love to have people feeling more comfortable joining in on the fun regardless of their experience or skill level.

I will be living through this year's college theme by always continuing to try my hardest and put my best effort forward in all hurdles that come my way. I will also be a good representative of what being a St Peter's College leader looks like.
