YEAR 7 DRAMA

Our Year 7 Drama classes have devised scenes for performance based on Fractured Fairytales. Students enjoyed, scripting,  directing, designing costumes, props, technology, sound and lighting for their performances.  They were entertaining and developed their acting skills, creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. All of these skills and attributes are important for future careers.

YEAR 8 DRAMA

The Year 8 Drama class performed their Children’s Theatre devised scenes for a beautiful audience from Molly’s House in Week 8.  To prepare, the class participated in a workshop with professional actor and clown, Clint Bolster from Hommunculus Theatre Company.

The drama students engaged the young audience with energy and fun.  The acting advice from our visiting actor to effectively engage a young children’s audience that our class took away from the workshop was to be more confident and have more fun; ask the audience questions to engage them; there is no such thing as too much expression; use a high energy level; let loose and let your inner child come out; be creative and have fun. It was a wonderful experience that our students and our Molly’s House audience will remember.

SENIOR DRAMA

Our Senior Drama class performed their IA3 performance of a contemporary Romeo and Juliet on Wednesday.  The task was to modernise the classic text to engage a modern audience. While meeting criteria of delivering the role with original language, our 2023 Shakespeare characters carried mobile phones, Star Wars light sabres for duel scenes and played modern music that provided transitions and set the varied moods. The actors performed for the Year 10 Drama class who gave positive feedback about engaging moments such as the ones listed.  Congratulations, Senior Drama class.
