CAMP!

Camp was the big event from the past two weeks! We had an incredible time down at Camp Manyung in Week 7, with so many wonderful memories.

The activities on offer included the giant swing, flying fox, high ropes course, kitchen garden, exploring the beach and rock pools, learning to play international games like GaGa and 9 Square in the Air and a Frisbee Challenge!

Not only that, on the first night, we were treated to an amazing magician who provided plenty of entertainment and got lots of the students involved! On the second night, we held a special disco (with glow sticks of course!), but in the style of a reverse shuffle. So every student picked a song and we played them on shuffle with prizes for the last 10 songs played!

Of course, the food was also a highlight and as usual, many brave souls attempting to stay up as late as they could!

Overall, it was such a positive experience and a significant highlight for the year! There were so many students who challenged themselves to overcome fears as well as those who learnt new things or tried something for the first time!

See Facebook for all our wonderful photos!

IN OUR LEARNING

Due to the busy nature of the last two weeks, we've had to squeeze learning opportunities into the limited time we've had in the classroom.

Students have been busy finishing off book reviews, narratives, economics projects and personal projects.

We have had a new focus on procedural writing and will finish this off next week!

In Maths, we have returned to number skills to finish the term.

LIGHTNING PREMIERSHIP

As if we didn't have a busy week with camp already, but on Friday 9th June, our students attended the Officer District Lightning Premiership to wrap up Interschool Sports for the year!

Competing in soccer, t-ball and netball, our kids competed strongly, but also enjoyed the experience and showed excellent sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Amazingly, our mixed netball team managed to go through undefeated and took home a First Place Pennant! It was an amazing result for our school and the second first place pennant for the year following our successful boys basketball in Term One!
