Planning ahead for 2024
As we head into the final two weeks of Term 2, it’s a pretty busy time for students in years 8-11 as they plan their courses and subjects for 2024… how time flies!!
Year 12 students are over the half-way mark of their course now, and we will commence the process of transition planning and tertiary study applications early in Term 3. To prepare for this, students should ensure that:
- They have their USI (Unique Student Identifier). Go to www.usi.gov.au for more information.
- Students should also ensure that have, or have applied for, a Tax File Number. Go to https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Tax-file-number/Apply-for-a-TFN/
There are many universities running tours and events over the holidays and students can find out more about these on university websites. Now is the time to start seriously thinking about life after High School for the Class of 2023..
The upcoming holidays are a terrific time to have career conversations at home and with friends and family. I encourage students to take an interest in the many and varied career opportunities that are everywhere in the world around them. If you are not too sure where to start – head to https://myfuture.edu.au/assist-your-child. This great resource can assist in guiding you and your child through utilising the many resources available to explore the world of work.
