Chaplain's Corner 2023
Hi MPS Family,
It has been a positive couple of weeks for me at MPS. I have been able to really dig into my role of supporting student and staff wellbeing. With week 9 and 10 to term to go I look forward to school holidays. For me I will be attending it is WA State Chaplaincy Conference at Optus Stadium where the topics over the 2 days cover - Trauma and Resilience, Gender and Sexuality, Cultural Capabilities. Then relax, reset and time with my family.
Chaplain Support - student wellbeing
At the moment my resource of choice has been Lego. I find that this enables students to regulate, problem solve, create and also gives them space to communicate feelings, needs and problems in a safe way. Play that is away from screentime is extremely important for children. It naturally provides so many ways to release pressure and allow them to be themselves. It is a privilege for me to come along side each of them.
Breakfast Club
Thursday and Friday breakfast club is going well with 20 to 25 students attending for either "grab n go" fruit and toast or those who would like sit, eat and chat with the volunteers and other students. I want to thank everyone for adapting so well to the changes. I also take this opportunity to thank Catherine Smith and Peter Jackson for their help each session.
Assembly Community Coffee
Our last assembly for the term is coming up in Friday week 10. Please come and enjoy a cuppa and a chat prior to assembly. I look forward to seeing you then. Have a great week.
