Hope everyone had a wonderful break. I didn't want our holidays to stop...so getting myself and the kids motivated was challenging. I introduce our last 2 council members, 2 remarkable individuals, Rubini Paul and Cadell Duke (aka Dr Duke) that love making a difference and giving back.
Cadell Duke
I am currently the Acting Assistant Principal at Malvern Primary School, having begun my teaching career at the school in 2002. In that time I have taught Grades 4, 5 and 6, as well as PE. My passion outside of teaching is certainly sport. I am absolutely loving coaching at the Mighty East Malvern Knights, where I am in charge of a ripper group of Under 10 legends. In case that isn’t enough football, I also help as an assistant at Beaumaris Football Club and am in charge of the Under 12 Girls Football program for School Sport Victoria, where we hope to defend our national title from last year, in Albury in August. In summer, I am the president of my cricket club, and on occasion can still be convinced to have a run around in the lower grades, after 6 years as captain/coach across two clubs. I am the very proud father of two boys, Bodhi and Finn, who are the third generation of my family to attend the school, dating back to my mother from 1946 to 1952 and myself from 1985 to 1991. Fair to say I love the place and certainly have no intention of leaving anytime soon. Please feel free to approach me at any time for a chat, offer suggestions, or raise any concerns you may have, the door is always open.
Rubini Paul
'I have a son in grade 3. I have been on the Malvern Primary School Council since 2022. I work with the Department of Family, Fairness and Housing in the Emergency Management branch focusing on Social Recovery.
I like being on MP School Council as I believe I can contribute meaningfully. I am able to bring unique perspectives and diversity of thought through my cultural background.
I also want to lead by example for my son, teaching him the importance of giving back to the community.'
